London Dads are having their special day on the 17th of June. Let’s celebrate all the amazing fathers out there that use their superpowers to make their kids smile every day. In a city like London, there is a lot to choose from. Check out our 5 ideas of places and ways to surprise London Dads on Father’s Day.
1. For Movies Lover Dads
Give London Dads the opportunity to watch a movie on the top deck of a boat after a cruise along the River Thames. “Movies on the River” by Time Out, with City Cruises, is London’s first ever cinema on the Thames.
For five nights a week from mid-June to early September, Time Out movie boat will offer a food and drink-fuelled sunset cruise from the Tower of London. Once the sun disappears, the boat will dock up in the shadow of some of London’s most awe-inspiring sights and play a movie on the open-air top deck.
Classic movies, including ‘Jaws’, ‘Dirty Dancing’ and ‘Some Like It Hot’, as well as recent hits including ‘The Shape of Water’, ‘Dunkirk’ and ‘The Greatest Showman’ are part of the lineup.
“Movies on the River” runs five nights a week (Tue-Sat) from mid-June to early September, starting on Wednesday, June 13. The boat boards at Tower Pier at8pm. The boat returns to Tower Pier once the movie finishes. Tickets from £29.

2. For Breakfast in Bed Kind of Dads
We know this is not exactly a place to take Dad but maybe is where he wants to be on his special day. If your London Dad just likes to enjoy a relaxed lazy Sunday morning nothing better than surprising him with a delicious breakfast in bed. But since it’s his special day, it would be great to add a “party look” to the tray.
If Dad has a sweet tooth, add a delicious treat. We personally find these Cookie Medals the most adorable gift for younger kids to give to their fathers. You know how little ones love award stickers and sports medals, right? They will absolutely love to give Daddy this yummy prize on his special day.
To add the WOW factor to your surprise, grab the kid’s aprons and while Dad catches up on some sleep in the morning bake him a super easy and quick cake that will make the whole family look like professional bakers. Louise and Kate’s Cake Kits are really easy and fun to do and it really takes you no time to bake an extraordinary cake without any special skill or ingredient. It’s also a great way to keep those early birds busy for a while and prevent them from waking up the sleeping Dad!
3. For Food Lover Dads
Taking place in Regent’s Park from June 13-17, Taste of London is the world’s greatest restaurant festival! Food and drinks from a selection of 40 up-and-coming new eateries and popular old-hands, Food Lover London Dads would love to be surprised with a ticket for this event with amazing summer food and great fun
Each day is split into lunch and dinner sessions, and standard entry costs from £17–£30. That’ll only grant access to the site, though – food and drink costs more on top. VIP tickets are around double the price, but they’ll get Dad a glass of champagne on entry, access to the VIP lounge and a Taste recipe journal, too.

4. For Adventurous Dads
Zip Now is an experience for London Dads that are not afraid of heights! With three 225 meter-long zip wiresoperating, this is an experience that allows friends and family to ride alongside each other for even more fun and thrills.
The wire starts at 35 meters high. To give you some idea, that’s the height of 9 double-decker buses! From the top, you’ll get a whole new perspective on London with views of Westminster and Battersea and much further afield.
Zip Wires are suitable for the whole family and require no previous experience or training. Tickets start from £22.50 per adult, £16.50 per children and there is a family ticket from £50.
5. For Dads that want to have Fun… like their kids!
We know some of you secretly wanted to go on those ball pools where kids have loads of fun on birthday parties, don’t you? We know we do, and that is why we think this could be one of the most fun gifts to give a London Dad on Father’s Day. Ballie Ballerson is the ultimate adult playground in town. Let Dad dive in one million translucent balls, three ball pits and enjoy retro-sweetie cocktails and great food! We’re sure he will have a “fab-ball-lous time”!
