How To Plan The Perfect Easter Egg Hunt

IMG_5259

What could be more fun than eating Easter Eggs? Well finding them, of course! Creating an egg hunt or Easter party couldn’t be easier. At team ParentVille, we have been hatching a few egg-cellent ideas to make this year’s egg hunt one to remember.

1. Location
First thing’s first, location.
Deciding on your location is one of the key ingredients to a successful egg hunt. Your location needs to be big enough for all your egg hunters and should have lots of good hiding places too.

An outdoor egg hunt is great if you wish to include games such as a egg hunt obstacle course. Why not use tree branches & bushes to hang some of your clues. They will make a great addition to your Easter inspired decorations. Having your hunt outdoors means you can end your hunt with an Easter picnic or barbeque for everyone to enjoy.

If the weather is looking a little unpredictable, why not consider hosting it indoors either at home or at one of our ParentVille party venues. Hiring a venue would mean there is no cleaning up at the end.

Indoor egg hunts are great as you can be really imaginative with your hiding places – children love nothing better than rummaging through wardrobes, cupboards or boxes.

Being indoors means you can have party games such as Musical Eggs, where instead of sitting, they get to hunt for eggs until the music stops. If you didn’t want to miss out on a picnic, why not have one indoors or set up your dining table with an Easter theme. Our pastel daisy plates will make you feel like you are picnicking outdoors.

2. Decorations
Now you have decided on your venue, it is time to decorate.

Be inspired with our Bunny Decoration pack, which includes bunting, confetti, helium balloons, pompoms, stickers, food label cards and much more.

Our Bunny Balloon Kit will make a great addition to your theme and can be used as part of your trail along with favours for your guests to take home afterwards.

3. Fancy Dress
Children love dressing up, so why not supply them with some bunny hats. Or opt for a full on bunny costume. Our Peter Rabbit and Flopsy hats look great and can be used year after year.

No Easter egg hunt is complete without an Easter bag to collect yummy treats. Why not treat your little ones to a personalised Easter Bunny Bag.

4. Follow The Clues
Children love following a treasure hunt so use easy clues to help them locate where their treats are hidden.

We love the idea of using:
• An Alphabet or Numbers trail. Perfect for younger children to follow.
• Trail your children’s collection of toy Bunnies or even their lego.
• Host an egg Decorating session a few days before and then use them as clues for your trail.
• Balloons are a fun way to trail clues for your egg hunt. At the end of the hunt they can be decorated with coloured tape and stickers.
• To mark the end of the hunt, why not have a star piñata.

5. Easter Treats or Eggs
Why not mix up your ‘egg’ hunt with some Easter inspired biscuits and cakes. They will also make the perfect addition to your picnic.
